SCHEDULES

All students must take the following classes with the choice of two electives:

1. Language Arts

2. Math

3. Social Studies

4. Science

5. Elective

6. Elective- Reading/Math will take precedence, if needed.

7. Doolin Seminar

PROMOTION REQUIREMENTS

Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 are required to enroll in a total of 18 annual courses: 12 required courses and six elective courses. Students are required to take and pass language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and two electives per year.

INDEPENDENT READING REQUIREMENT

Students in Grades 1-12 are required to read a minimum of five books during nine-week grading period. This includes in-class independent reading and at-home reading. A minimum of 30 minutes of at-home reading is a daily homework assignment for all Miami-Dade County Public School students, as mandated by the M-DCPS Comprehensive Reading Plan for improvement of reading achievement.
