PTSA Executive Board Meeting Minutes

December 5, 2007 at 6:00 p.m.

 

 

Call to Order:             The meeting of the 2007/2008 Executive Board of the Howard A. Doolin Middle School PTSA was called to order at 6:15 p.m. by President Maite Gomez.

 

Roll Call:                                Maite Gomez, Zaida Rivera, Barbara Prieto, Mrs Iza-Rodriguez.

 

Quorum:                                The president declared a quorum was present.

 

Minutes:                                 Minutes from the November 7, 2007 were approved as presented.  M/S/P

 

Treasurer’s Report: 

•                     PTSA Treasurer will present a $10,000.00 budget at the next PTSA Board Meeting for approval and presentation to the General PTSA body on January 23, 2008

President’s Report:

•                     Thanksgiving Grams raised $16.00

 

•                     We have 13 new student members

 

 

 

New Business:        

•                     We will start selling World’s Finest Chocolates 50% of the proceeds will go to the PTSA

 

•                     We will be selling Holiday Grams and will try to host a Holiday Dance

 

•                     Ms. Campbell, The Schools Media Specialist, approached the PTSA President about hosting an event for parents regarding the Accelerated Reader Program.  We will try to coordinate an event on January 23, 2008.

 

•                     PTSA will host the sale of 8th grade class t-shirts.

 

•                     PTSA will provide a turkey for the QUEST Program Holiday Dinner, members of the PTSA are asked to attend and hold a membership drive.

 

•                     PTSA President and Recording Secretary had meeting with the Administration Staff to communicate on the needs that are needed at the school.

 

•                     The PTSA has been asked to help with the Award Ceremony with a budget of $3,000 and the Teacher Appreciation Week with a budget of $1,000.

 

•                     Recording Secretary provided handouts for suggestions for fundraisers, ideas for parent workshops, and tips for parents.

 

 

 

Adjournment:           Having no further business meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
