General PTSA Meeting Minutes

October 17, 2007

Call to Order: The General PTSA Meeting of the Howard A Doolin Middle School was called to order by President Maria Gomez at 7:20 p.m in the cafeteria. The Recording Secretary, Barbara Prieto, recorded the minutes.

Quorum:                     The president declared a quorum was present.

 President’s Presentation:

Maria Gomez opened meeting with a welcome to parents, teachers, students and staff in attendance.

Introductions were made of the members of the Executive Board and Administrative Staff.

                                    The purpose of the PTSA was explained.

                                    The membership goal was discussed. 750 members

President Gomez then gave the floor to Mr. William Tejeda of Title 1 to explain Title 1 and open the floor to nominations of parents for the Title 1 program.  Working with Mr. Tejeda was Maria Hernandez, from Bowman Foster Ashe Elementary.

                                    Nominations from the floor were received:

                                                            Carlos Tolma,Yanella Miranda,Daisy Saballos

Having no further nominations, the members approved the above named to represent Howard A Doolin Middle School in Title 1.

Presentation: A representative from AAA spoke about the new fundraiser developed by them for the schools.

Adjournment: Having no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
